The Hopkinton (MA) Center for the Arts is running their annual fundraising Festival of Wreaths from Nov 27 – Dec 8, 2019 in the Lotvin Family Gallery. Visitors to the center may submit bids in this silent auction to purchase the wreaths. The wreaths are made by local artists and craftspeople. Silent auction winners may pick up their wreaths Dec. 9.
My mixed media mosaic submission Pasture in the Night is a scene of three decorated trees lit by a star above. I used Italian Sicis glass, millefiore, and smalti tile to create the scene and mounted it on an Italian style breadboard from the Brandani Acacia Collection. I surrounded the scene with red beads, bow and bells to create the impression of a large tree decoration.
